Married Single Other – Episode 6

admin

Monday, 29 March 2010, 9:00PM - 10:00PM

Final Episode.

The comedy drama series reaches its conclusion with an eventful episode that turns the lives of many of the characters upside down.

From romantic entanglements to surprising upheavals, there is a lot going on in the world of Eddie, Lillie, Babs, Dickie, Clint and Abbey.

Dickie moves on again, but this time with a familiar Brazilian girl who may be looking for someone else entirely. It is up to Clint to try to keep her identity hidden and figure out what she wants before anyone – especially Abbey – works out who she really is.

Elsewhere, events take an unexpected turn, which leads to several of the group re-examining their lives and juggling their relationships into new patterns.

This hit show gets to the heart of modern relationships, and stars some of Britain’s top actors, including Amanda Abbington, Dean Lennox Kelly, Ralf Little, Miranda Raison, Shaun Dooley and Lucy Davis.

As the first series comes to an end, catch up with the characters as they redefine coupledom and family, with one eye on the future and one on the past.

I think it was the Housemartins Caravan of Love!
What a great series, I absolutely loved it !!

I laughed and cried!

It was very heart warming but also so unfairly tragic.
What a brilliant writer and fantastically played by great actors and actresses.

Does it really have to end there for Lillie ?

Please do another series !

What a fantastic programme, how real it felt, one minute I was laughing out loud (not often seen watching a television programme) and the next I was crying. I havent seen something like this since we lost Cold Feet. Please bring it back again.

I loved it more please very soon. I couldnt believe it when the ambulance stopped just for a minute, it could have gone left or right but the emergency lights went on instead. Written brilliantly and acted with such confidence

Ralf has finally thrown off his silly young twenty something character and all the actors were superb. Fab Fab Fab cant wait for series 2.

I loved cold feet and this fits into that slot that has been empty for a long long time. It was so refreshing to see a proper series not a bunch of wannabe celebraties doing silly things to get noticed.

More of this please BBC this is what you are good at and I am glad my tv licence has finally been used for something worthwhile.

This is by far the best thing on the telly for so long. I think the acting is brilliant by everyone, however, I think Lucy Davis is by far the best thing and can’t understand why they would write her out, if this goes to a second series (and I really hope it does) then it won’t be the same without her. However, credit to all of them, especially the little boy who plays Joe, who is amazing.

Please please make another series.

Donna said:

Genius! The best thing on TV in a long long while. Cast are amazing and must have a fantastic crew behind them. Role on series 2! Can’t wait to see how the characters develop. It’s great to see actors and actresses that I’ve loved in other shows all in one series together and playing such emotional roles. LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!. Makes you laugh and cry all in one hour! Well Done to all involved.

Sam said:
March 23, 2010

It was going so well! So why then make the happy couple have to deal with the brain tumour. I’m afraid it really spoilt it for me because it’s just too sad and unnecessary. Surely it was sad enough that Babs and Dickie had marriage troubles. This abrupt change of gear in what seemed to be a light humorous programme feels very awkward. I guess it has been necessary as a device to change the relationships between the characters as the series progresses but overall, I would have enjoyed the programme more without the playing out of this tragic storyline. No wonder everyone in Britain is so depressed! What with Eastenders et al set out to put a real downer on your evening this almost joins it!

Nick said:
March 23, 2010

I had to keep making excuses to leave the room…making tea to ‘was that the door’ were used because I couldn’t stop myslef welling up!

It was the most moving peice of television I have seen in a long while.

There is a little bit of me that does not want a second series, as in my eyes ITV may struggle recreate what was a beautiful and tasteful way of showing the suffering a family goes through when a loved one dies.

Chris said:
March 23, 2010

As someone for whom ‘quality programming’ translates to Jezza Clarkson and co blowing up hundred grand cars on Top Gear or the latest top-of-the-table clash in the Premier League I was seriously not expecting to like this show as much as I have.
In a word it is brilliant, in two words it is utterly brilliant, but if you give me more than that I would have to say I can’t remember the last time I saw a drama which got the characters so spot on.
Not only do you genuinely care about them and believe the situations they find themselves in are real but you can also match them up to people within your own family or circle of friends.
Last night’s episode was a corker – have been listening to The Housemartins sing Caravan of Love all day at work!
Cheers ITV.

You cant put an end to such a great couple. I just loved watching him being so totally devoted to Lillie. He is every womens’ dream come true.
terrible way to spend your wedding night, but at least she didnt have to die in a hospital bed.

Glyn Morgan said:

i dont think lille died, i don’t think she has a tumour.
my guess is that it is a clot seen on scan from when she was hit in a previous episode. last week they said it looked like a tumour but it wasn’t confirmed. Next week may have a happier ending after all, watch this space

OMG…… Please dont leave it there!!!! One minute im laughing the next sobbing :( I had to phone a friend after the last episode for a delayed tearful heart to heart. Tell me something, was it me or did the last episode make you feel like you wanted to phone every special person in your life, just do it , call them. Dont worry if its been forever since your last chat, a good friend is always there come rain or shine!!!! We moan about the smallest issues some times (yes I admit to doing it too!) when you look at the big picture you realise how silly it is.

Im only 25 and my mum (my bestest friend in the world) was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer 3 days before christmas. I still feel like my world is over!! so the series touched my nerves. I truly hope and pray for all those affected out there battling the disease.

I am hoping to do a sky dive this year so if you can help please get in contact. Once I have enough intersted sponsers I can join a charity website and do the dive. Email me on angelinasooren@hotmail.com with your basic contact details and I shall let you know when I join the charity web so donations are secure on-line (have to book it first then they will set up a donation page for me) even if is 1p it would be much appreciated.

Take care all, lets here it for the next series!!!!

Love Angelina xxx

I have to say when the series started I was expecting another version of Cold Feet, just with different actors and an alternative title. How wrong I was. This series combines the right amount of humour, drama, emotion and gets the balance just right. Who says terrestrial TV is rubbish? The critics can have a night off and put their feet up in front of the typewriter as far as I’m concerned. Even though it’s only a drama, it still feels real and brings home how terrible it must be to lose someone close – especially when they’re still in the throws of youth!

I’m even tempted to start up my own rendition of Caravan of Love with my work colleagues in the office. “Stand up, stand up, stand u-u-up!!!!”

I would just like to do something that I wouldn’t normally do and leave a written reply about a series. I think the writer needs an award for this fantastic series it is yet the best by far. So many laughs and tears. Yes to a previous reply it does make you think about all your loved ones and the future. As a 45 year old bloke I’ve never felt moved tor inspired enough to sit down and write having watched a series on television, but with Single Married Other it’s time to make an exception.

Just wanted to say it was a truly great series; everything from the writing, casting, acting, filming, music; completely inspirational. I can’t think of any series through which I’ve felt such a rollercoater of emotions, laughed so much and felt so much involvement in the characters. I don’t watch huge amounts of tv but this was unmissable. I agree with Tasha’s comment above, best series I’ve seen for a very long time. Congratulations to everyone involved; you should all be proud of yourselves.

I have never liked a series enough to even post one comment on a fan-site let alone two – so the fact this is my second shows what a truely great show MSO is. Had no idea how the final episode was going to unfold and after having seen it I have nothing but admiration for how the writer handled such an emotional subject. Last night actually felt like it could have been the first episode of a series as it seemed we were being introduced to all the characters again as they adjust to the loss of a close friend and family member. The Abbey/Clint relationship is becoming slightly one-dimensional but I think there is plenty of scope to develop their characters in Series 2 (there better be one ITV!)
Watching this has made me appreciate just how important it is to not let yourself be held back by any fears of failure or pressure from your peers.
If you love someone – go out and tell them.
It’s never too late

The writing was good – but not brilliant – it felt like the writer was constrained by production, with each episode only really having enough content for half an hour, but being stretched to fill an hour so it felt a bit like wading through treacle. And so cheesy and inevitable. As for romcom – in what way? Rom I’ll grant you, but com? I don’t think so. The most unremittingly miserable piece of TV I’ve seen for a long time, saved only but the acting – an absolutely brilliant cast.

This has to be the most moving thing I have seen in years. I don’t watch a lot of TV but am so glad I saw this.

I shall probably watch it again on ITV player. All the cast are exceptional, though Fabiana needs a good slapping.

Lucy’s character has such strength and beauty. Not sure how a second series will measure up.

This series has been a real pleasure to watch, the sort of quality TV really needs. The whole program and all its facets were spot on, emotional and funny, the last episode really gripped me it was a real roller coaster of a ride.

I am not a big TV viewer but decided to give this a try and have been hooked all the way through, it is one of the best series I have seen in a very long time. Well done to all involved and congratulations, everyone involved should feel very proud.

This has been the best thing by far on ITV for such a long time. It has been so compelling – funny, sad, romantic, realistic. Even my partner was compelled to watch it. Made us realise life is too short. Can’t wait for the second series, although don’t know how they can top the first!?

OMG it was so sad when eddie saw lillie sat at the bottom of his bed with the same top on, joe and lillie are so alike they ask eddie the exact same questions or she was just like haunting them and heard joe, no lillie is too nice to haunt them, I think lucy davis is a brilliant actress why did lillie have to die it is now falling apart without her humour….!!!

~*~Beth~*~ said:
March 30, 2010

i think babs was trying to get eddie’s mind to go onto her by like she was trying to be a lillie all jumpy and trying to be funny she was quite good for a first attempt maybe if you do another series she can carry on practising and we can watch her.

I did really enjoy this program. I’m not a TV fan so it takes a lot to get my attention and commitment. However, the end completely spoilt it for me. Lillie was a great character and they should never have got rid of her. It was so refreshing to see a happy couple and family on TV. I won’t be watching the second series. Why do TV programs always have to have trauma of such magnitude. There’s enough doom and gloom when we watch the news or look in the paper. It’s disappointing.

Steve, I really appreciate all the info on the music, you’ve been a real star :-) any way that ITV could furnish the definitive ’soundtrack’ to the series? Terrific prog and greatly helped by a superb choice of music that enhanced the show

Terry said:
April 5, 2010

I agree with Paul.
ITV have a real opportunity to produce a CD of all the music from the series and make a good return on its investment.
Personally, my eyes (ears) have been opened up to numerous songs and artists that I have never previously heard.
Or is it just me who has led a sheltered life?
