They met while filming the romantic comedy series Married Single Other. Now it appears that the relationship between stars Miranda Raison and Ralf Little has fallen firmly into the ‘other’ category.

Miranda, 30, who previously appeared in the BBC drama Spooks, is understood to have moved into Ralf’s £500,000 West home.

The pair were spotted walking hand-in-hand in the sunshine last week, dressed casually and wearing dark glasses.

ITV 1 announce Married Single Other

admin | Save & Share

A six part romantic comedy drama, Married, Single, Other, which explores the lives, loves and loathes of three couples, all at different stages of their relationships, has gone into production for ITV1. Starring Amanda Abbington, Lucy Davis, Shaun Dooley, Dean Lennox Kelly, Ralf Little and Miranda Raison, Married, Single Other, is produced by Left Bank Pictures, a company founded by former ITV Drama executive, Andy Harries.

Married Babs (Amanda Abbington) has realised her relationship is in real trouble. She can no longer live with her useless, but lovable, husband, Dickie (Dean Lennox Kelly), who has a unique talent for spending his days and her income on ‘great ideas’, all of which never  materialise. Frustrated by his frivolous approach to life, Babs is faced with one of the biggest decisions of her life.  Should she divorce Dickie after all they’ve been through together? Single Clint (Ralf Little), Dickie’s brother, has never dated the same girl twice. Until he meets Abbey (Miranda Raison), a gorgeous model, who turns his world upside down and makes him question his one night stand approach to relationships.  For the first time in his life he wants a proper relationship. And in order to persuade her he’s boyfriend material, Clint has to change his attitude to love and romance.  Is he a confirmed womaniser or will he settle down and be faithful to one woman for the rest of his life?

Other and childhood sweethearts, Issy (Lucy Davis) and Eddie (Shaun Dooley), have been together for 16 years and are blissfully happy. Eddie has actually proposed on 16 occasions, but each time he crashes and burns.  Issy still refuses to wed Eddie, claiming she loves him too much to marry him. However, when she encounters an abusive husband, whilst working at the women’s refuge, her opinion on life dramatically changes.  She also never realised how much her young son, and child prodigy, Joe (Jack Scanlan) wanted her to marry his dad until she finds his blue scrapbook containing all his research on weddings.  This is a life changing moment for Issy as the impact of what she’s discovered sinks in.

Married, Single, Other also stars Leila Mimmack as Gina, Babs’ 15-year-old daughter from a previous relationship and Tom Kane as Harry, Issy and Eddie’s eldest son.

ITV’s Director of Drama Commissioning, Laura Mackie, is delighted with the project:  “Married, Single, Other is a fantastic mix of laugh out loud humour, high emotion and true romance brought to the screen by a wonderful ensemble cast.”

Executive Producer Andy Harries (Cold Feet, The Queen, Prime Suspect), said: “Peter has created a script which offers a romantic and sweet take on modern day life, against a sometimes bitter and realistic background. I’m thrilled to be working with him and we have an outstanding cast and crew on board.”

Married, Single, Other is a Left Bank Pictures production for ITV1 and will be executive produced by Andy Harries and Francis Hopkinson, alongside writer Peter Souter and Hugo Heppell from Screen Yorkshire.

The 6 x 60 minute series will be filmed in Leeds and produced by Radford Neville (Wuthering Heights) and directed by Declan Lowney (Cold Feet, Father Ted, Little Britain).

Married, Single, Other has been commissioned by Laura Mackie, Director of Drama ITV and Sally Haynes, Controller of Drama ITV and is supported by Screen Yorkshire through its Production Fund.

Mackie reunites the Cold Feet team for rom-com

admin | Save & Share

Cold Feet exec producer Andy Harries and director Declan Lowney will be reunited for an ITV -comedy-drama series about six friends negotiating life and love.

Left Bank Pictures will make the 6 x 60-minute Married Single Other for ITV1, to be executive-produced by Harries (The Queen) and directed by Lowney (Little Britain).

The story follows three sets of couples: Eddie has been with Izzy for 16 years but can’t convince her to get married; Clint is trying to get his reluctant “almost girlfriend” Abbey into the bedroom; and Babs and Dickie share an electric physical connection, but are polar opposites on everything else.

Commissioned by ITV director of drama Laura Mackie, Married Single Other is earmarked to air at 9pm in the autumn. It is the first show written by former -advertising guru Peter Souter. Mackie described the show as a “Richard Curtis-esque look at life and love”.

The commission is in keeping with Mackie’s desire to expand ITV’s scheduling mix to include more genres. She will no longer be commissioning one-off specials “unless they are of the calibre of My Boy Jack”, to focus on ordering three and four-part specials and longer-running series.

She also warned that financial constraints and changes to the schedule would mean she would be spending her budget “even more wisely”.

ITV Casting for a 2 year TV Programme – MARRIED. SINGLE. OTHER

,

Jude at helenogradylondon.co.uk writes

MARRIED. SINGLE. OTHER…

Married. Single. Other… concentrates on three couples who are either at the beginning (Clint & Abbey), the middle (Eddie & Issy) or the end (Dickie & Babs) of their relationships.

They are, respectively, Married, Other and about to be Single.

Even the happiest, most long-term couple have their little imbalances, their hidden longings. At any given time one partner or the other is a little more in love or a little more distracted.

Eddie and Issy have been together for 17 years; swans since their 18th birthdays. They have two boys (16 and 12) and they are the most married couple you could ever meet. Except that they are not married. As Eddie says “We don’t believe in marriage, particularly Issy.” Eddie secretly longs to be married to the woman he loves.

The imbalance in the marriage of Babs and Dickie is not so subtle. It’s over and everybody knows it. (Except maybe Dickie). They have great, creative and noisy sex life but nothing else works anymore. Dickie, though childishly cute, is lazy & thoughtless and Babs has had enough.

Clint and Abbey are the slightly better off, slightly too pretty third couple in our group of friends. However, the imbalance in their lives is simple. Abbey is ready for kids and Clint isn’t
